VINTAGE NOTES
2019 brought lots of rain in winter which moistened the soil for optimal budbreak. The summer was mild, with cool, foggy mornings and perfectly tempered afternoons, setting the stage for vibrant and expressive wines. The long finish to the season, not without moments of unpredictability, helped to preserve freshness and finesse in the fruit with abundant hang time teasing out great color, structure and soft tannins. The fruit ended up fresh and bright with good richness and texture to make it another excellent vintage for Napa Valley.
WINEMAKING NOTES
The Moncada Vineyard in the Oakville AVA, is nestled amongst some of the finest vineyard “neighbors” that anyone could ask for. Long hailed as the heart and soul of the Napa Valley with famed vineyards such as To Kalon, Opus One, Screaming Eagle, Silver Oak, and Promontory, to name a few. Oakville makes some of the finest wines in the world and we are pleased to have this famed fruit as the framework of our 2019 Vintus Cellars Oakville offering.

2020 CHARDONNAY -
RUSSIAN RIVER VALLEY - RESERVE
COMPOSITION: 100% Chardonnay / Unoaked
APPELLATION: Russian River Valley
PRODUCTION: 350 Cases
ALC: 14.% PH: 3.2\

Medium to full-bodied, it offers wonderful savory flavor layers of honeycomb and hazelnut with a velvety texture and great length plus lots of mineral sparks coming through on the finish.
The key to richness and development of texture is sur lie aging and batonnage. This means that, much like barrel fermented Chardonnay, the Unoaked stays on the lees and is stirred weekly in tank to encourage mouthfeel development.
